I sat in the restaurant trying not to look at my watch. Howie was still not there. I tried to call the studio but they said that he left awhile ago. I was about to call Pollyanna's cell phone when I spotted Howie walking towards the bar where I was sitting.
"Sorry honey, we got a little tied up."
"I understand."
"So...let's get our table. I'm starving." Howie flagged down the hostess to get us a table.

Our dinner just arrived when Howie's phone rang. "Hello?...um, well I'm at dinner now...um, let me check." Howie covered his phone. "It's the club. They want to know if I can come in and cover for them a little later. Do you mind if we make this a short evening?"

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was our first time out since the twins were born and he wanted to make it short evening! "Whatever," I muttered.
Howie got back on his phone, "Yeah I'll be there in about an hour or so...okay bye."

We finished our dinner and left the restaurant in our separate cars. Howie heading towards the club and me heading home.

I got home to find Nick giving the babies a bath in the kitchen sink. "How are you able to give both of them a bath at the same time?" I asked him. "I can't even do that!"
Nick just laughed and said, "I had practice on Aaron and Angel, remember...hey, what are you doing home so soon? Where's Howie?"
"Howie got called into the club so we pretty much had dinner and left."
"That sucks – I know that you were looking forward to getting out of the house for awhile. Why don't you join him at the club?"
I just shrugged my shoulders. "I guess it's not the same now that I have kids. I'd rather stay at home then spend my time in a dance club."
"But you're husband is there...why don't you call Amber and head over to the club? You've already got a babysitter for the evening," Nick said as he wrapped Jacob in a towel.
"You know what – maybe I will do that." I went into the other room and called Amber to see if she was up for a little evening out. I knew that it wouldn't be the same since she was pregnant, but it has been awhile since "Double Trouble" went out together.

Amber's View

"Hello?" I answered the phone.
"Hey, whatcha doing?" Rhonda asked.
"Right now I'm picking up toys because I'm tired of stepping on them," I said bending over to pick up yet another one. "I swear this kid just has way to many toys. What's up with you?
"Well Howie went to the club tonight and I was kinda wondering if you wanted to go over there for a little bit. It's been a long time since we've done anything together that doesn't involve kids."
"I would absolutely love to, but AJ isn't here and I tried to call Denise a bit ago and she's not in either. I just don't have anyone to watch the kid."
"Ohh," Rhonda said. I couldn't tell whether she was relieved or upset about that. "That's all right, we can do it another time."
"Yeah," I said. "I'm sorry."
"That's ok, don't be. I'll talk to you later."
"Ok. Bye," I said hanging up the phone.

Rhonda's View

I came back into the kitchen were Nick was now getting Nikki dried off.
"So, are you going out?" he asked.
"Well, there is a small problem," I said. "AJ went out and Amber is at home with Arrianna. She couldn't get a hold of Denise so, it looks like the plans are shot."
"Why doesn't she just bring her over here?"
"You're going to watch twins and Arrianna? You are a glutton for punishment aren't you?"
"Nope – just Uncle Nick."
"Okay – if you don't care, I'll call her back and tell her that we're on."

I knew Amber had arrived at my house when I heard Arrianna yelling for Uncle Nick. I finished getting ready and headed downstairs.
"Looking good tonight Rhon," Amber said as she tried to stop Arrianna from pulling Mere's tail.
"Thanks! You too honey."
"Yeah with this belly?" she asked.
"Pregnant women are beautiful," Nick said laughing. "It's just not all of them get as big as you do." Amber was about to hit Nick when she realized that her little girl was sitting on his lap.
"I'll get you later for that comment Carter!"
"Don't threaten me! I have your little girl," Nick laughed with evilness in his voice.
